For sure, you know this too.
That we met BTS the moment we needed them the most. Not a second earlier, not a breath too late. Just exactly then. When the world felt loud. Or empty. Or too fast. Or too much.
And suddenly, there they were.
Seven voices, seven lights. (Oh, what a relief that we are seven.)
For me, it started when my brother kept playing BTS songs in the car. At first it was just background noise. Something to hum to without thinking. But then the melodies began to settle into me, slowly, like how sunlight sinks into your skin without you noticing.
For my mom, it was in a concert. She only came to accompany me, but somewhere in the middle of it—somewhere between the fan chants and purple ocean—time softened. Her eyes followed Jimin, and she told me later, “It felt like everything paused except for him.” We both left that night changed in a way we didn’t have words for yet.
One of our friends got into them when she saw them on YouTube. It was a dance practice video but they are dancing to Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You. Later they found out it’s Blood, Sweat, and Tears Dance Practice.
Oh how far we’ve come, how far BTS has come. We are now celebrating their 12 years!
And maybe you remember the exact moment you fell in love with them.
Or maybe you don’t.
But that’s okay. As Namjoon said, “The future is now.”
